Palestinian Asylum in (1948) and the Position of the Jordanian State


Abstract | الملخص

The research aimed to find out the position of the Jordanian state on Palestinian refugees in 1948, as well as to know the impact of that asylum on Jordan socially, politically and economically. In this research, the researcher followed the stages of Palestinian asylum and refugee waves according to the statistics and figures that the researcher drew from the documented sources. In addition to addressing the Palestinian refugee issue internally and externally, the Palestinian resort to Jordan in 1948 and the position of the Jordanian state on the emergence of the camps of Palestine Clay in Jordan. The research yielded the following results: 1 - The imposition of the occupation of the Zionist entity of Palestine; since the partition resolution issued by the United Nations issued on 29/11/1947, which included the division of Palestine into three areas in which a Jewish state and an Arab state and the Jerusalem area international. 2. The occupation of Palestine led to random Palestinian emigration, as the Zionist forces decided to empty the areas designated for Jews to Palestine. 3. The occupation of Palestine led to the Palestinians resorting to neighboring countries such as Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. 4 - The increase in the number of displaced Palestinians during the Arab-Israeli war in 1948, which exceeded hundreds of thousands. 5. After the Palestinian-Jordanian unity in 1950, all the Palestinians of the West Bank and the refugees, including the refugees in the East Bank, became Jordanians with Jordanian interests and the Jordanians. 6. Jordan has economic, social and political responsibility for the camps established by UNRWA. 7- To highlight the Jordanian humanitarian and national role that can serve as a role model. 8. The problem of Palestinian refugees has had political, social and economic consequences or Jordan.
